Oh jesus that scene..all the tears in the world were not enough! I feel for carol, so much, and this is just so devastating for Daryl. He’s in pain.
Oh god. The hurt in his eyes. Its like all the hope got sucked out of his heart in one big swoop. ;__________;
Norman is such an incredible actor. The way his face just slightly twitches and his eyes go so sad. Daryl’s in pain for himself, and I’d also say he’s hurting for Carol too.
He’s hurting for Carol, for himself and at the same time so angry at the situation and himself as well. as if he could have done something to prevent Sophia from becoming a walker. It’s beyond sad. and the fact that we can deduce ALL of that from a single look and the epic way Norman’s been portraying this character is amazing. if this man doesn’t get at least an Emmy nomination out of this heads will roll.
I feel like he thinks he failed. He promised that he’d find her and he wasn’t able to. So he’s angry. He’s angry at himself. He’s angry at Carol. He’s angry at everyone. No wonder he says he doesn’t want to look for anyone any more. It hurts to care.
Caring for people is a painful path that Daryl’s not prepared to walk on again anytime soon. I don’t blame him. I so hurt for him.
